Children

The Children’s Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church exists to provide a secure, nurturing environment for our children where Biblical truths are taught as a foundation for salvation in Jesus Christ.

But Jesus called them to him saying “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”  Luke 18:16-17.

Our goals for the growth of our children are based on the fact that our children grow just as Jesus grew mentally in wisdom, physically in stature, socially and emotionally in favor with man, and spiritually in favor with God and a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ.

We seek to:

            • Lay a strong spiritual foundation in the life of each child we teach with the hope that when they are older each child will accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.
            • Help our children to understand that God is the creator of all things and Jesus is the Son of God.
            • That the Bible is the true word of God.

Along with our Children’s Sunday School Department we have these additional opportunities to help us grow our Children’s Ministry.  At Calvary you can rest assured that your child’s safety is a priority. We require anyone working in our Children’s Ministry (birth-age 17) to have a background check and we have secure policies and procedures in place to provide a safe haven for your child while in our care.   Below is a sample of our fun and inviting learning experiences for ages Preschool – Grade 5:

Extended Session/Nursery – 11 AM Sundays for ages Preschool – Kindergarten.
A time to learn about Jesus through song, play and Bible stories geared for the younger child.

Kid’s Church – Sunday mornings during our regular worship hour for kids grades 1-5.
Using the Christ-centered Bible study resource The Gospel Project for Kids, kids learn  the big picture of God’s story—the story of redemption through Jesus Christ.  Each week, our kids will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It’s a great time for kids to learn Jesus’ story and how we interact with each other in a church environment.

RA’s/GA’s/Mission Friends – 7 PM on Wednesday nights.
– Royal Ambassadors® (RA®) is a missions discipleship organization for boys in grades 1-5.  Through hands-on activities that encourage spiritual growth, games and sports, and mentoring relationships with RA leaders, RA members become a faith-based brotherhood.
– Girls in Action® (GA®) is a missions discipleship organization for girls. Every girl in grades 1–5 can be a part of GA! Through GA, girls learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work. They also make new friends and have lots of fun!
– From babies to kindergarten, Mission Friends provides the building blocks of faith and basic awareness of God’s love for all people.

Kid’s Choir – Meets Sundays at 6:30 PM for ages Kindergarten -grade 6.
Our Kid’s Choir has lots of fun learning special programs to perform for our congregation at Christmas, Easter and various other times throughout the year.
